My STORY
How we started
When asked the question how long have I been baking, the truth is I’ve been addicted to frosting for as long as I can remember. Having such an addiction has lead to a long life of frequent baking. Although I must admit I sometimes eat just frosting. I often plan my day around what sweet treat I’m going to bake next, and truthfully, often try to consume the entire batch. Funny story when I met my husband he never knew the difference between real icing and store bought, but now there are times he will taste my icing and say "Babe this is missing something, or what did you do wrong."
I’ve spent the last couple years trying to run a shop in a small resort area in California. Due to a family illness we recolated to Boise area. I left my my family and my comfort zone. But I look forward to experimenting with flavor combinations and gourmet ingredients in order to perfect moist, flavorful cupcakes and silky smooth buttercream. I am so excited to share these little bites of pure deliciousness with you all. There is just nothing like melt in your mouth cupcake topped with the perfect frosting. I absolutely love the reaction of others when they indulge in these extraordinary desserts and fall in love with the cupcake all over again.
As a busy wife and new mother to our precious Baby Autumn, I’m balancing our crazy family life with my baking enthusiasm by starting small working wholesale. When I met my husband two years ago, I wanted nothing more than that a drive thru coffee and cupcake stand. But we went a different way and ended up with a market/deli/bakery and it took a toll on the bakery side. I just want to bake and cater to special events and fulfill daily orders that are for no specific reason at all.I pray that there people out there that share my philosophy – deliciousness doesn’t have to be just for “special” occasions!
I have handled my first winter here in Idaho waiting on the birth of our daughter. This past year has been tough we lost a wonderful father, father in law and Pappa to colon cancer the day after Christmas. We can only be greatful that he was able to spend the few short months he did with our daughter hopefully memories we will be able to share with her forever. We still have Nana close she is such a strong woman and awesome mother in law and has so many wonderful talents, you should see the tea parties she has put together amazing. I don't really miss California but I do miss my family Nathan and Nevin there and expecially the lil guy Kilian he has my heart. But enough about me the next time you need something amazingly delicious for a dinner party, birthday, wedding or even just for tonight’s dessert, I’d love to answer the call.

As you might have already read in "My Story"
We moved to Boise Area in 2013, relocating and changing our lives was a huge step. My husband and myself thought moving was the right thing to do for family. Seeing my father in law was 2 hours away from his cancer treatments it would give them a place to stay almost like home. After moving toward the end of August my father in law wasn't able to make the drive as much so roles changed and we stayed at their house more and more. When my father in law passed away after Christmas we spent more time at home and started learning more about our neighbors and Barbra Johnson became a huge part of our lives. When she eplained her role as President of Chase Away the Clouds. I think it clicked that there was a reason we moved if we couldn't help Poppa Leigh any longer maybe we should be focusing to help others in the same situation as he was. So donating my profits and making sure there is a steady income coming to the cancer house made total sense. So our mission statement became " Fighting Cancer One Cupcake at a Time" So hopefully not only are you getting a totally fresh and tasty cupcake by supporting us you are supporting a very needed cause.
